The LDS Jazz Band is widely regarded as one of Malaysia’s hippest and most dynamic live bands. Known for bringing infectious enthusiasm and energy to their music-making, this highly adaptable ensemble performs weddings, private parties, and high-end corporate events anywhere in Malaysia.

Meet the Band Leader: Leonard Da Silva. At the heart of the band is leader Leonard Da Silva, a respected film composer, music educator, and consummate keyboard player. Leonard’s reputation as a top-tier musical director was firmly cemented during a celebrated 5-year residency at the G Hotel’s G Spot Lounge in Penang during the mid-2000s. Working closely with industry visionaries like the late Marco Battistotti, Leonard anchored the local band, providing a flawless, adaptable musical foundation for a constantly rotating roster of international lead vocalists. Because of this extensive experience, Leonard and his band are renowned for their ability to play absolutely anything and everything.

Prestigious Venues & Performances: The band is a staple of the live music scene. They are regulars at renowned venues such as Spice ‘N’ Rice restaurant and China House in Penang. Their impressive resume includes performances at numerous prestigious hotels and restaurants across the region, including G Hotel, Bagan, Rasa Sayang Hotel, and the Golden Sands Hotel.

The Repertoire: A Spin on the Classics. Whether playing as a compact trio or a full quintet, the band adds their own distinctive spin to classic and current pop hits. Their expansive repertoire covers everything from well-loved jazz standards to favourite pop songs and driving funk numbers.
